CROCUS: Crocus plants are relatively small, reaching just 3-6 inches in height (depending on the variety). The leaves are grass-like, generally with a light stripe running up the middle. Many of the spring-flowering crocus bulbs are among the earliest bloomers. The blooms pucker up at night and re-open in the morning. Remembrance Crocus: There is nothing better after a long winter than to see the first crocus poking their heads through the soil. A terrific naturalizer, crocus may be planted en masse in lawns (that do not need early mowing), in rock gardens and as colorful drifts in early garden beds.

well i bought these crocus plants last year and they were sprouting then bloomed.so when the flowers died off i put the bulbs in the fridge.all spring bulbs need to be stored in the fridge when done blooming.then when you are ready to plant them in the ground or indoor force which i have done they will be chilled.so hopefully this experiment will work out for me.several years ago i had daffodil bulbs blooming in a bag in the front hall were its very cold and has no heat.so i indoor forced them and came up with dozens of beautiful daffodils! it was like i bought bunches of them in pots!

Advice WithOn Planting Tulip Bulbs
tulip bulbs

The fast on set of Spring is heralded by the rising look of lovely tulips. Dotting the gardens, these colorful flowers are a preferred of many.

In contrast to other flowers, planting tulip bulbs requires a bit of considered and function. 1 should take into account wherever they want the flowers to bloom and plan out your bulbs by strategically inserting them the place you consider they greatest fit into the landscape. Also, you must prepare for dividing and also to replace the bulbs each five to six many years.

Are you dreaming of your own tulip garden and questioning how to start off planting? Follow these measures and suggestions to make your dream can come genuine.

Digging a gap for growing tulip bulbs may possibly sound simple bu this actually has to be done with treatment. The hole need to be dug to a depth of 10 inches and the soil at the bottom need to be left a small loose to ensure that air and water reach in and approximately the bulb in the gap. You need to set back again two or 3 inches of the soil you dug up, then the soil will have a very good amount of air. One particular of the quickest and simplest methods I’ve observed to do this is to simply use a hand auger when I’m planting bulbs.

]]>

In order to have the very best likelihood of expanding effectively, you need to area your bulb in the hole the appropriate way. It is finest to have them all at an even depth, if you want all of your tulips to occur up approximately the exact same time. The gap ought to receive the spherical finish of the bulb and the pointy stop need to face you. You ought to choose care with the depth, as well deep and they will not appear up, too shallow and they will get dug up by garden critters.

The most colorful gardens will be the ones in which the gardener utilized manure or compost to fill in the holes throughout planting, rather than just common fill dust. If your target is to have the ideal tulip blooms, you need to supply quite a few points, particularly nitrogen. The floor really should be firmly packed so animals don’t dig up your attractive tulips, but be mindful not to jostle the bulbs out of place. It adds a wonderful look if you high the complete bed with mulch, plus it will retain moisture and hold rodents out.

I usually come across that growing tulip bulbs can be a fun fall project. Tulips are amazing to have so take the time to plant a number of nowadays.

tulip bulbs question by danika1066: How can I make my tulip bulbs regrow?
I have tulip bulbs in a glass container inside my house. They just finished blooming and were beautiful. I was under the impression that I could cut them down to make them grow back up again … but since they aren’t planted in dirt, I’m unsure about how to proceed. Will the bulbs resprout and bloom again?

tulip bulbs best answer:

Answer by Geico Caveman
You can’t cut them back.

That’s the main trick with bulbs, they take the energy and nutrients from the plant before it whithers away to store it up till the next bloom.

If you cut it back, it won’t be able to bloom.

Also, wherever you live, they need a cold spell in between. So if you’re in a warm climate, put them in the fridge for the winter.
