if there rooting allready place then in some dirt inside till spring frost is over then plant out doors. if the have not started new roots yet just plant in the out doors about 6 inches deep

(Note: For City of Boulder residents only) There will be about 300 to 400 bags of tulips available. Parks and Recreation staff changes the variety and color of the tulips planted on the Pearl Street Mall every year to provide a unique and impressive display each spring. Each fall, staff plant about 15000 new tulip bulbs. After the bloom, staff removes the bulbs to make way for summer plantings, storing them until the annual tulip bulb give-away each August. Pearl Street Mall tulips are imported directly from Holland from a wholesale provider. So come on down and grab a big ‘ol Boulder bag of blossoming bulbs to make your yard as pretty as April in Downtown! Now if we could just get those buskers and hotdog carts on your lawn too…

Make sure you plant the bulbs with pointed end up, an inch apart then cover with the soil. The next step is to water the bulb thoroughly and allow the pot to drain. Place the pots in a cold dark place, about 45 to 48 degrees Fahrenheit, for six weeks and check once a week for roots growing and appearing through the drain holes. Once the roots establish themselves, it is time to move the bulbs to a sunny place at room temperature. In three weeks the crocus blooms should appear.

Whether you grow them indoors or outdoors, the crocus will make a lovely addition to your home and/or garden.

If you can plant them in the ground before it freezes you will have blooms in the spring. If you want to force them to bloom in the house, put them in the frige for about two to three weeks them plant them. Pots.
